Entrust is a private trust that owns the majority of Vector on behalf of our 344,500 beneficiaries.
Entrust was established in 1993 as a private trust to run for 80 years, until 2073. It was originally called the Auckland Energy Consumer Trust (AECT). In 2016 we changed our name to Entrust, a simple combination of energy and trust. Find out more about the role of Entrust, the trustees and our people below.
About Our Name
In June 2016 we changed our name from the Auckland Energy Consumer Trust (or AECT) to a new name, Entrust.
Vector is leading the transformation of the energy sector to create a new energy future; identifying and developing options that will provide value, choice and service for its customers throughout New Zealand and deliver sustainable shareholder returns.
